Both are paid deal-email services: you pay a subscription, they send you discounted fares. The honest difference for a Canadian is in the details: what each plan tier costs in CAD, what the free trial terms are, which airports they cover and what they state about hotels and itineraries (as of the dates we checked, neither plans a trip). We are not affiliated with either company. We sell a different thing, a planned-trip service, and it appears below as the third option with its catch stated plainly.
Same rows on every page, so you can compare across our comparisons. Competitor facts are from each company's own site; the date under each cell is when we checked it.

Going is a flight-deal alert membership: it finds airfare deals departing from members' chosen airports and sends an alert when it finds a deal that meets its standards; members book the flight themselves, typically directly with the airline. checked 2026-10-06
What it does well: Rigorous deal vetting before alerts go out: Going only sends deals it deems exceptional after factoring in taxes, bag fees and add-ons, and it screens for reasonable layovers and airline quality.
The catch: The free Limited tier only includes domestic economy deals from the continental US; deals to Hawaii and Alaska, international deals, Mistake Fares, and custom Flight Alerts require a paid Premium or Elite membership.
Dollar Flight Club is a membership service that monitors your chosen home airports and sends email and SMS alerts for heavily discounted flights (advertised up to 90% off) to your selected dream destinations and surprise locations. checked 2026-10-06
What it does well: Offers a free-forever Basic plan that already includes 1-3 flight deals per week from one departure airport, alongside two paid tiers.
The catch: SMS alerts, premium/business-class deals and partner perks are limited to the $99/year Premium+ tier; international flights and mistake fares require at least the paid $69/year Premium tier (Basic is domestic-only).

We are a third option, not a party to this comparison. We take a cheap flight from a Canadian airport and publish the finished 5-10 day trip around it: hotel options with real nightly prices, a day-by-day plan, an itemized per-person budget. Checked by a person before it publishes.
The catch: we don't send fare alerts and there's no mobile app. We publish finished trips, not route watchers.
Going wins on deal volume and its years in the business, first as Scott’s Cheap Flights. If you want the biggest stream of deals and you liked its free tier, it is the safer pick of the two for pure alerts.
Dollar Flight Club wins on price if its current plan costs less for the same coverage you need; the CAD numbers in the table are dated, so compare them on the day you decide. Its airport coverage claims are in the table too.
Both beat us on alert volume, and we say so. Neither one books your trip, plans your days or budgets your food. Different products, honestly compared.
Where we lose: we don't send fare alerts, we don't cover every route, and we publish fewer items per week than any deal-email service. If your question is "watch my route", we are not your answer.
Live from our trip list, same packages anyone can browse on /trips. These are the finished plans the comparison above keeps referring to.

Both services’ current plan prices are in the table above in Canadian dollars, each with the date we checked. Which is cheaper depends on the tier, so read the cells and re-check their pricing pages on the day you sign up.
Neither is Canada-specific as far as their own sites state; the airport coverage row shows what each claims, with dates. The one that is better is the one whose deals match your home airports and travel style, which only you can judge from a few weeks of their free tiers or trials.
The hotels and itinerary rows in the table show what each states on its own site, with check dates. Neither sells a planned trip; both stop at the fare alert.
The free trial row shows each one’s stated terms with the date we checked. Read the exact terms on their sites before you rely on them, because trial conditions are exactly the kind of thing that changes.
Honest answer: we do not send fare alerts today (home-airport alerts are a planned Pro perk, not a live feature), so if you like watching for deals yourself, a free tier or free tool still does that job. What we do is take a cheap flight and hand you the whole trip around it. The two cover different halves of planning a trip.
